Handmade theme party decor.

Heeelloooo and welcome to my blog, my new readers!!! :)

Yay, here are finally the photos I took of the handmade decor I made for Flo's maritme birthday party. I did not only work on a nautical outfit, but I also wanted our home - especially the kitchen with the party buffet - to look maritime. :) So here's what I made:

I already started planning the details a few weeks beforehand and collected some materials, but since I have a lot of supplies at home, I didn't have to buy a lot. :)

I made this brooch using fabric leftovers and paperboard.
Some tiny food toppers made of striped paper.
Eeeeks, I'm soooo proud of those handmade sailor hats, I made four of them. :) Can't believe how good they have turned out. :D I found the idea online, but I didn't use any tutorial. Instead, I tried out myself how to make them. :)
Lots of handmade cake toppers: you just need to clue the piece of paperboard onto a wooden stick, I used a hot-glue gun for it. For the blue toppers, I made an anchor stamp myself. :)

I used my circle cutter to make tiny garlands...
And I made pretty pinwheels out of striped paperboard and buttons, using the same technique as in my felt pinwheel tutorial. :)
Two handmade hair bows for the ladies... :)
And of course, not to miss my handmade maritime fabric bunting I sewed a few days before the party. :) No party food table is complete without a bunting! :)

I also made those paper wall decor elements (don't know how they are called) and Anja was so sweet to design maritime, striped paper for us and made this super amazing paper ship garland after an idea we found on Pinterest. <3
Of course I also made pom poms do decorate the walls. :)
Aaaand, finally, the wall decor above the food table of which I'm gonna share photos in a few days... :)
Thanks for reading &have a fantastic week! :)

While you are reading this post, I'll probably be totally freaking out and tidying up my home, because this evening, my lovely blogger pals Stef & Stefanie are arriving to spend the week with me! <3

Everybody has a summer holiday...

Dear readers, I hope you're all enjoying summer! :)
As soon as my holidays begun, weather became awesome!!! The first week of my holidays is now over and it has been awesome! Some of our best friends were here, Flo and I went to the lake twice and sat in the sun, Anja and I spent an afternoon in her garden, using her parent's garden shower ;D and Flo and I have been to the Baltic Sea for a short holiday. It was more than awesome and I wish I could turn back time and enjoy this precious time again! :)
When we go to the seaside, Mogli loves this, too. He loves water and he loves being outside and he totally enjoyed our trip and the hours at the doggy beach.

I prepared lots of food for a nice picnic, I made blueberry-lemon muffins, a fruit salad, mascarpone with fresh fruits and sponge biscuit and we took ice tea and pizza (not homemade) with us. :)
Do you spot the little insect on his head and his tongue coming out of his mouth? :D I love the expression of his face in this photo! :D

Those precious days passed by way too fast, but we enjoyed it a lot and now I'm looking forward to an awesome week with some of my very favourite bloggers, can't wait to tell you more!! :)
Enjoy summer!!! :)

What I Wore: Maritime Party.

Dress: plain dress from H&M, upcycled by me :)
Neckerchief: amazon
Belt & flats: H&M
Hat: handmade
Earrings: Primark
Triangle ring: asos
Bracelet: vintage from my Mama <3

Heyyy, happy Saturday! :) I hope you're fine! :) I just came back from a short trip to the seaside and here's an outfit post matching my current mood. :)
Last weekend, we were having some visitors, some of our best friends came over the weekend to celebrate Flo's birthday with us.  :)
Because I love theme parties and because I love to decorate, I offered Flo to prepare maritime decor and a maritime buffet for him (I'm gonna share photos of it, soon). :) I wanted to have an outfit that fits the party's theme, but I didn't want to spend lots of money on it, so I upcycled an old, plain, red dress. :) What is more, I sewed the hat myself! :) I made four of those, one for myself, one for Anja and two for other guests. :) Mogli got a handmade cape, too. :)
So here's everything that I wore. :)

Homemade blueberry shake.

Hello, happy Friday! :) I love milk and I love fruits and here's a quick recipe for a blueberry shake. :)

You need:
- Fresh blueberries
- Milk
- 1 tea spoon of honey
- 1 vanilla pod

Puree the fresh blueberries with the milk. If you don't like the tiny pieces of peel, you can use a sieve to get rid of them. :) Next, use a sharp knife to scrape the vanilla off the pod and add it to the shake. Finally, add a tea spoon of honey, stirr everything and here's your shake! :) I love the taste of honey and vanilla with blueberries! :)

Rainbows and Apple Crumble!

Woke up today morning and saw this beautiful rainbow! N and I were both excited. N who was halfway through dressing for school, ran to wear his warm pants and grabbed his jacket. Then both of us went into the cold, 4 degrees Celsius temperature balcony and clicked this (it was a full end to end rainbow) -

Beautiful! Ain't it??
Some things are just worth it!

Like having a freshly baked warm apple crumble with some cold vanilla ice cream. Gooey apples baked to perfection, crisp walnut-y rolled oats crust. Yumm! And icing on the cake, erm, crumble is that I made it myself... my first ever apple crumble. Recipe to follow soon... :)

Happy Friday!!

Handmade accessory.

Hello! :) I once found this amazing white feather necklace on Pinterest and wanted to have such a beautiful accessory myself. During a craft night with a friend of mine some weeks ago, I tried to make a similar necklace with faux leather. I drew the shape of a feather on the faux leather's back with a pencil and then I cut it out with a tiny cutter. Finally, I attached the necklace. I love it pretty much, especially because of its color. :) Such a great idea (that's one of the reasons I love Pinterest, you always find inspiration and things to try out yourself)!
Happy Tuesday!
