Review: Crafty magazine

Hello! :) Today I am going to review the second issue of Crafty magazine, a DIY mag from the UK which is brand new and full of DIY ideas. I had recently been contacted by the editor and been asked if I wanted to write a review for my blog - of course I wanted! :) Well, Crafty is a new crafts and lifestyle magazine with lots of tutorials for projects you can then try out yourself.

There are lots of lovely illustrations and drawings inside the magazine and the paper is so nice, I love magazines which are printed on good quality paper!
Definitely the best thing about the magazine are the many DIY projects. There's a huge variety of craft projects in there and what I liked a lot about them was that these weren't projects I've already seen on Pinterest a hundred times (unfortunately, that's currently the case with many other DIY magazines, you only see projects in there which are displayed all over the Internet anyways). :) What I rather don't like about the mag is that the layout is sometimes a bit confusing, I'm missing bigger headlines for what a page is about. Moreover, when reading the magazine, I had been expecting a lot more stories about creative people and indie businesses and insights behind the scenes of people's creative work, so that's definitely a thing I was a bit disappointed about.

I loooove the layout of the cover, the bright colors and the fonts, it's definitely pretty to look at. Furthermore, the magazine comes with a nice gift, a little purse clasp. In the magazine you can find a really detailed tutorial for how to sew a purse using this clasp, even in different styles. Who doesn't like buying a magazine and then getting an extra gift? :) All in all, I quite like the magazine - especially all the interesting DIYs, they are great - but I think there's definitely lots of potential for more interesting stories and features and to develop a clearer structure of the mag's content, because this was sometimes a bit confusing for me as a new reader.

The new DaWanda LoveMag is released and I'm featured in there!

Happy Sunday everyone! :) Today the new issue of DaWanda's LoveMag is released, a magazine full of colorful summer products and pretty DIY ideas.
If you go to the LoveMag landing page, you can read the issue online and find a link to all DIYs which are found in there. Moreover, there's the link to the DaWanda shop in which you can buy it. :)
I'm so happy that my colleague who is responsible for the LoveMag has asked me in late winter if I wanted to contribute a DIY project - of course I wanted! :) Moreover, she also asked me for ideas who else we could invite for a DIY in the mag and I'm happy that I was able to suggest some really inspiring people who then added great content to the mag! :)
My DIY in the LoveMag is a tutorial for a colorful piece of wall decor with an embroidery hoop and recycled fabric scraps. :) If you want to see the whole tutorial, click here.
There's also a text about the Snuggery in which I spend most of my Thursdays due to my social media internship at DaWanda, because I'm currently responsible for the DIY workshops. :)

Some creative books and magazines I can highly recommend.

Heyy, happy Friday! :) Today I'm sharing some of my current favourite reads with regard to creative content, so here's what I recommend:
The Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin: This book provides an amazing overview about what it means to run a creative business and gives insight into the amount of time and effort it needs to successfully sell handmade items. Althought I read it after I had already run my own independent business for about two years, there was still a lot of useful advice in this book that was new to me.

Tolle Taschen selbst gemacht (rough translation: How to make fantastic bags yourself) by Miriam Dornemann: This book is only available in German and is full of awesome sewing patterns for all kings of bags, purses and pouches. I simply love it!

Burda easy magazine (the current edition for summer clothes): I recently bought this magazine which includes lots of easy sewing patterns for casual summer clothes. It's for beginners, but there are also lots of nice patterns which can be used by people with advanced sewing skills. I already sewed a pretty skirt and it turned out beautiful! :)

Mollie Makes magazine (the original English edition): I think most of you may already have heard of this awesome magazine (of which there is now also a German edition available), it is full of lovely DIY projects, gives insights into the lives of other creative people and shares lots of pretty eye candy. I rather prefer the English edition, because I love the language so much. :)

Sew! by Cath Kidston: This is one of the first sewing books I ever bought, it's perfect for beginners (also available in German) and the instructions are very clear and easy to comprehend. What I love most about this book are the layout and the colorful pages which are full of bright and colorful photos. There are lots of projects inside this book I sewed myself, so much fun! :)
