Jam for summer.

Hello! :) It already feels like summer and as those who have been following my blog from the beginning already know, I make some jam each season. :)
Here's the detailed recipe I shared last year, and in this post, I'm only gonna share a brief summary of what you need to do in order to get such delicious exotic jam. :)
You only need lots of fruits (I chose ananas, banana, mango and fresh lemon balm) and preserving sugar.
Chop up all the fruits and purée them. Mix them with the preserving sugar according to the instructions on the sugar. I used one where you need to add sugar to the fruits at a ratio of 1 to 1 (one part fruits, one part sugar). Next, heat everything in a pot, let it cook for a few minutes, sterilizie your jars with boiling water and pour the jam into them. Close the top and add some pretty fabric scraps for decor. :)
Hmmmm, my jam is soooo delicious!! :) Maybe you wanna try this, too? :)
Can't wait for the strawberry and raspberry season to make some more flavours! :)

I'm obsessed with floral vintage dishes.

Hey, happy Monday! :) I hope you were having a great weekend! :) Mine isn't over, yet, still two more days off. :) So far, I spent LOTS of time outsite, sitting on the balcony and being out for a walk with Flo and Mogli. Yesterday evening we had lovely guests for dinner and I managed to work on some creative projects... :)
On Friday after work, I did some second hand shopping and although I was actually looking for some tiny bowls, I found all those awesome cups, a plate I couldn't resist buying and one little bowl. I'll soon share photos of what I'm gonna use them for... :)
Aren't they more than pretty? I love all those floral patterns, they're so kitschy and such beauties. :)
Wish you a nice day, I'm planning to go outside. :)

Our green oasis.

Hello! :) I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend! :) I'm totally enjoying mine, I've already done everything I needed to do for university, spent lots of time outside and there are still some nice things waiting for me. :)
It's unbelievable how hot it's outside, it totally feels like summer. :) Last week, Flo and I bought a few flowers, because the ones we are growing ourselves are still so tiny. So here's how our balcony looks like, I tiny oasis and a place for relief from everyday life. <3
Happy Sunday! <3

Lots of new phone photos.

Happy weekend! :) Yay, it's so good, because due to a public holiday on Tuesday, this time I've got a weekend which consists of four days! :) I still have lots of reading to do for university, but nevertheless, I'm gonna enjoy a sunny weekend with lots of nice plans. :)
To start my Saturday morning (haha, procrastination before I start learning), I wanna share a few Instagram photos. :) As I already mentioned, two weeks ago I've been to Darmstadt to meet Hanna, my beloved friend since 9th grade. :) I also spent one afternoon in Frankfurt to see my lovely blogger pal Vivi of Matz ab and then I spent one night in Kassel to enjoy some time with my mother and I also met my best friend. :) I also took some lomography photos, I'm gonna scan them, soon... :)
As always, I took too much stuff with me, but I love my red vintage travel bag. :)
There's Frankfurt's skyline which I saw from the ICE train.
Hanna wanted to give me those shoes she found on her grandma's loft, what a pity they weren't my size!
Lots of pretty picture frames in Hanna's room.
What a pretty chandelier, I saw it at a thrift store.
When we went shopping on Saturday, I found this awesome Will Smith shirt. :)
Hanna's style is truely unique. <3
I wore yellow tights and one of my favourite dresses. :)
While we were shopping, I found this amazing lace dress.
Hanna and I. <3
Before I went on this little journey, I sewed a new cover for my laptop so that I could take it with me and watch Gilmore Girls on the train. :)
On Sunday I spent a few hour with Vivi in Frankfurt, she was as likeable and cute as I imagined her to be. :) We have been chatting and taking a few photos all afternoon, hopefully we're gonna meet each other again, soon! <3
On that weekend I also uploaded my handmade oven clothes on DaWanda to take part in DaWanda's and byGraziela's Mother's Day competition (If you want to and haven't done so, yet, you can still give my item your heart, I'd really appreciate this! :).
I spent lots of time on the train and I used this time for studying and reading boring scientific texts about German linguistics.
Yay, back at home! Do you see my awesome (handmade) kitchen textiles? :) I used one of my favourite apple fabrics from Frau Tulpe and there's also the pretty, blue apron I got from Sindy of Ms Fisher goes Handmade. :)

I hope you're having a lovely weekend, I'll now have to read a bit and I'll be back with another post on Sunday at the latest. :)

Here's a tiny update concerning my shop: during my semester holidays, I sewed a lot and I made lots of new, colorful oven clothes for the kitchen, most of them with kitchen patterns. You can find them all in my DaWanda Shop. :)

Moreover, if you haven't done so, yet, please do me a tiny favour and give my handmade turquoise heart oven clothes your heart on DaWanda, because whith those, I participate in DaWanda's Mother's Day competition. Thanks a lot!!! :)

Yay, after work I'll be heading to Berlin to finally meet my lovely blogger pal Sammy of The Cookie Button in person! <3

Homemade basil pesto.

Heyy! :) I'm still busy with studying and making notes for a totally boring presentation at university, but as usual, I always reward myself with something I love and today my little reward for being hard-working was to make pesto after a recipe by my lovely friend Anja.
Here's what you need:
- Lots of fresh basil (I bought three pots with a basil shrub)
- Fresh oregano (I forgot to include it in the photo :))
- Fresh Parmesan
- Pine nuts
- Fresh garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt (I used really good organic sea salt)
- According to Anja's recipe, you can also use parsley, but I don't like it, so I left it out :)
First, crush the pine nuts, the herbs and the garlic. Next, do the same with the Parmesan. Put everything into one bowl, stir everything together with the olive oil and add some salt. Then, fill the mixture in sterile jars and pour some olive oil on top, this way it can be kept longer. :)
I always collect empty jars and thus, I don't have to spend money on buying some. :)
To decorate the jars, I sticked little lables onto them (I got them from Stef of magnoliaelectric <3) and fixed some fabric squares to the top, sooo pretty!
This pesto has turned out more than delicious, it's perfect with some pasta. <3
I wish you all a nice week! :)

Let's go outside!

Hello again! :)
Yesterday evening Flo and I had dinner on our pretty balcony and since we have moved to our new apartment, it was our first barbeque. We had lots of vegetables, fresh bread and cheese, corn, grilled cheese and organic sausages for Flo. It felt so good to sit outside, smell the fresh air and listen to the singing birds. :) I love this season and I totally enjoy the warm climate and that one can spend more time outside. :)
I hope you are having a lovely weekend, I am currently studying a lot (lots to do for university) and that's why I only have little time for creative projects. Nevertheless, I've got lots of ideas for upcoming projects, so make sure to come back, soon. :)

Some creative books and magazines I can highly recommend.

Heyy, happy Friday! :) Today I'm sharing some of my current favourite reads with regard to creative content, so here's what I recommend:
The Handmade Marketplace by Kari Chapin: This book provides an amazing overview about what it means to run a creative business and gives insight into the amount of time and effort it needs to successfully sell handmade items. Althought I read it after I had already run my own independent business for about two years, there was still a lot of useful advice in this book that was new to me.

Tolle Taschen selbst gemacht (rough translation: How to make fantastic bags yourself) by Miriam Dornemann: This book is only available in German and is full of awesome sewing patterns for all kings of bags, purses and pouches. I simply love it!

Burda easy magazine (the current edition for summer clothes): I recently bought this magazine which includes lots of easy sewing patterns for casual summer clothes. It's for beginners, but there are also lots of nice patterns which can be used by people with advanced sewing skills. I already sewed a pretty skirt and it turned out beautiful! :)

Mollie Makes magazine (the original English edition): I think most of you may already have heard of this awesome magazine (of which there is now also a German edition available), it is full of lovely DIY projects, gives insights into the lives of other creative people and shares lots of pretty eye candy. I rather prefer the English edition, because I love the language so much. :)

Sew! by Cath Kidston: This is one of the first sewing books I ever bought, it's perfect for beginners (also available in German) and the instructions are very clear and easy to comprehend. What I love most about this book are the layout and the colorful pages which are full of bright and colorful photos. There are lots of projects inside this book I sewed myself, so much fun! :)

I hope this list is useful for some of you, maybe you want to share links to your favourite creative books in the comment section!? :) Any favourites? Have you read any of those books and mags I posted above?

Wish you a lovely weekend!

Easter weekend.

Hello! :) How has your weekend been? I recently haven't been able to check alll of your pretty blogs or to comment on your posts, because I've been busy with the start of the new semester and with meeting some of my friends. :)
On Easter my friend Jenny came to visit me and we were having an awesome girl's weekend. :) Last weekend I visited my friend Hanna in Darmstadt and met Vivi of Matz ab, we had a great afternoon with lots of chatting (photos coming soon :)). So here are all the photos of my amazing Easter weekend with Jenny.
Before Jenny came to visit me, Flo and I went out for a walk in the woods and had to say good bye for the weekend, because he left me for a men's weekend with his best friends. :)
I prepared the apartment, bought fresh flowers and herbs for cooking.
Mogli has still been lovesick, he's the cutest dog on earth. :)
My friendly neighbour gave us some eggs she got from her grandma's chicken, they were sooo delicious.
Lots of fabric scraps I collected during the last years, they are so colorful.
Jenny and I made a bike tour through pretty Potsdam and visited Peacock Island. It's an island beetween Potsdam and Berlin with lots of beautiful peacocks. :)
We've also been at the former border between eastern and western Germany, a place of history.
We took tons of photos and wore colorful outfits. Jenny wore my handmade turquoise hat, it perfectly matched her outfit.
On Saturday, we met Anja for a long shopping tour in Berlin. <3 We've been to Frau Tulpe, one of my favourite fabric stores in Berlin, and we had a shopping break at Cupcake Berlin and ate the most delicious cupcakes. <3
The three of us went to, Humana, a huuuuge second hand shopping store, where we saw the most amazing bridal dresses. We tried them on for fun, it was hilarious!!! :) I especially love the photo of us girls in front of the mirror, wearing those amazing, old, vintage dresses. <333
Thrifting was lots of fun!
In Berlin there's a new pub, they reconstructed Mac Laren's Pub which most people know from the How I Met Your Mother series. :)
In the afternoon, we took lots of fun photos at an industrial area in Friedrichshain.
In the evening, we had lunch at Knofi, a restaurant in Berlin Kreuzberg with delicious mediterranean food. Sooooo good! <3
As you can see, my dress collection is constantly growing. :) When we were in Berlin, I found another vintage dress, I will only have to shorten it a bit.
On Easter Sunday, Jenny and I had a delicious breakfast (we always eat lots of healthy and tasty food... :)) and gave each other little Easter presents. I made her, Flo, and Anja little fabric Easter bunnies and Jenny gave me chocolate, knitting needles, masking tape and nail polish. <3
My beautiful kitchen decor! :)
Jenny and I made lots of soap bubbles on my balcony and on Sunday, we ate frozen yoghurt at Yoli in Berlin.
We went to the Wall Park flea market where I found a pretty enamel bucket in pretty good condition and we enjoyed the beautiful weather. :)
Ohh, those vintage plates were so pretty!
In the afternoon, we went to an exhibition about DIY, there were some interesting projects and exhibits and we saw a pretty collier made by Fee of Fee ist mein Name. :)
Berlin's Television Tower, the city's most famous symbol.
Finally, a photo of Jenny and me while we were on the flea market and a snapshot of her, taking photos of Mogli. :) I love her hairstyle in the photo. :)
Hmmm, that was delicious, on the last day of our great weekend we had this for dinner, grilled cheese, fried eggs, corn, avocado and tomatoes. <3

I hope you liked those photos, I'm currently totally obsessed with Instagram. <3

If you want to follow me on Instagram and see all the photos immediately, you can find me as Luloveshandmade. :)

Happy week! :)

DaWanda's Mother's Day Competition: Please vote for me!

Hey everyone, I hope you're fine! :)
I'd love you to do me a little favour: I recently applied for taking part in DaWanda's Mother's Day competition where one could win half a meter of this pretty retro fabric from byGraziela. I'm one of the 50 people who won and received their fabric package and then the next step was to create a unique Mother's Day present using this fabric. :)
I made those pretty oven clothes, you can see them on DaWanda.
Now everyone who has a DaWanda account can heart my item and in the end, the person with the most hearts will win the competition. :)
So if you have a DaWanda account, please log in and give me your heart! :) Of course you can also use this as a good occasion to create your own DaWanda account, maybe you wanted to shop something handmade anyway and then you can help me, too! :)
Thank you in advance!! :)
I'm soo excited about this competition and so thankful for DaWanda and byGraziela that they chose me to be one of those who could take part! :)
Thanks for reading and happy Sunday!! :)
