My life in Instagram photos: the time before Christmas.

Dear readers, this is my last Instagram photos post this year. The next one will follow in January and include all the Christmas and holiday photos. :) I very much hope you were all enjoying Christmas and are having awesome holidays! :)
So here's what happened in my everyday life during the time before Christmas. :)
This is the pretty fabric store in Potsdam in which I have been working for the last 1 1/2 years, but my last week has come... // Tasty dinner. // Snoooooow on the balcony!! :* // Sleeping doggie baby. // Snow walk with my two loved ones. :)
Tiny St. Nicholas surprises for my colleagues. // Winter outfit. // Mr. Moustache mug production for my shop. // I made a little cape for Mogli to protect him from the cold. :) // Crafting. // Baby! :*
Doggie, it's cold outside. // We found the most awesome snowman in our neighborhood. // Making a doggie bow tie for a customer. // Cutting fabric for Mama's Christmas surprise, I sewed a huge patchwork pillow case. // Cozy winter outfit.
Super warm, new winter boots. // Organic shopping. // New, handmade winter loop scarf. // Mogli and his owl neckerchief. :) // Anja brought me the cutest tiny Christmas hat ever. :D // Working in the kitchen.
My rubber boots for rainy days. // Matching colors. :) // Working on Flo's huuuge Christmas present: a handmade patchwork blanket. // Christmas decor in my room. // Wrapping Christmas presents.
Done! :) // Super delicious brunch. // Wearing my new reindeer sweater. // On my shelf. // Winter outfit for a good-bye dinner with my colleagues. // A pretty surprise from etsy. :)
Candy color outfit. // We bought tons of Christmas cookies. // I made two new pillows. :) // My last day at work! I quit my job in the fabric store because in January I'm gonna begin a social media internship at DaWanda for a few months. :) Can't wait and I'm super excited about this new adventure, but it was hard to say good bye to my colleagues and to leave the fabric store behind me. I learned a lot during the 1 1/2 years I've been working there and I really loved my job! New year, new challenges! ;) // My colleagues and my boss were so sweet to give me super cute presents before I left. I had to fight against my tears all day. ;) // And we finally got our Christmas tree! Prepared for the holidays!

While you are reading this, I'm enjoying my Christmas holidays and I hope you are doing the same! :)

A Handmade Patchwork Blanket for Christmas.

Hellooo! :) Today I want to share one of the xmas presents I made this year. :) After Flo fell in love with the patchwork blanket I made for my Mama a few weeks ago (and he had already fallen in love with Mogli's patchwork pillow at the beginning of the year :)), he wanted to have one for himself and added it to his Christmas wishlist.
Of course I wanted to make his wish come true and so I soon bought fabric in green, red and white, matching the colors of his room, espacially of his couch and pillows. :)
It was lots of work to cut out all the pieces of fabric and arrange them in a pretty way, but I think it was absolutely worth the effort and I'm super satisfied with how the blanket has turned out! :)

I took those photos secretly in Flo's room while he was away, I took them the week before Christmas before I wrapped all the presents. :) While I'm writing this blog post it's the Saturday before Christmas, only two more nights until he will unwrap his presents and I can see his face looking at that pretty blanket! :) Can't wait! When you are reading this post, Christmas will be over (the post will be uploaded automatically) and we will hopefully be sitting on the couch, snuggled into this patchwork blanket. :)
As you can see, I used several different kinds of fabric and there's a matching bias tape at the edges.
Simply can't stop looking at it!
Here you can see the blanket on the couch in its full beauty!
I'm sooo proud of this patchwork project! :) Hope that Flo'll love it as much as I do! :)

What I put inside the three advent calendars...

Hey everyone, I hope you are enjoying your holidays and are having a sweet Christmas with your loved ones! :)
Because December 24 is over, I can finally share all the pretty surprises which I put into the advent calendars for Anja, Flo and my Mama. :*
It took me several weeks to collect ideas, to find all those tiny things and to prettily wrap them, but it was all worth the time and effort and it was so heartwarming how surprised and happy the three of them were! :))
So here's what I put inside:

Anja got sweets, tea, pretty girly stuff and lots of pretty fun toys and stuff for relaxation. :)
My mum also got tea, some tasty snacks, stuff for the home, sweets and a few other tiny surprises. :)
Flo got tea, too, and of course sweets couldn't be missing. I also got him stuff for his room, some fun stuff and some handmade coupons. :)

This was sooo much fun!
Handmade advent calendars are the best! :)

Merry Christmas everyone!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! :) Eeeeeeeks, this is one of my two favorite days each year (the other one is my birthday, of course :))! I loooooove waking up full of excitement, still like a child, juping out of bed, switching on my Christmas playlist and looking at the Christmas tree. Each year, this day is perfect, filled with delicious food, Christmas movies (especially those from Disney :)), Christmas songs all day, snuggling, quality time, a holiday walk and unwrapping presents in the evening. Magical!
Love this day more than words can say and I wish you all super cozy, relaxing and wonderful holidays with your loved ones!
Thank you so much for reading my blog and enjoy Christmas!
Love,

Day 23 - Graffiti in Wellington

I spend a lot of time walking around in Wellington, partly because we live in the CBD (Central Business District) or downtown and partly because we do not have a car. The city is very compact and everywhere we go on a daily basis, is walkable. S and I made a conscious decision not to buy a car unless we move to the suburbs. Though S does miss the driving around sometimes.

I on the other hand feel that it's been working great for us. We are "green", get our 30 mins a day (and sometimes more) of brisk walking and no parking issues.

While I walk around town I see a lot of art and graffiti on walls, garages and buildings. Don't know if any of this is legal or not.

Here is some of Wellington's graffiti through my eyes.

This is a residential building with modern loft style apartments

This was one smart and innovative artist!

Hope you are having an awesome Sunday! Thanks for visiting!

Holiday Outfit Idea.

Hello! :) Christmas is getting closer and in case you haven't already seen it on Stefanie's blog Squeaky Swing (this lovely lady has invited me), here's an outfit idea for the holidays. :)
For my outfit idea I combined rose with red, white and gold and wore a romantic lace dress together with striped socks and sparkling accessories and a handmade hairband.
You can easily make such a hairband yourself! :)
I'm gonna wear this outfit on one day during the holidays and I've got plenty of ideas for the other ones. :)
What are you gonna wear?

DIY: Christmas Cards in 4 Different Ways.

Hello dear readers, here's a DIY for you for how to make different Christmas cards, maybe you need a last minute idea for your colleagues or family. :

I made four different kinds of cards, some with fabric scraps, some with handmade rubber stamps, some with potato stamps and some with colorful washi tape.
You don't need many supplies (those are all things most crafty people have at home anyway) and they are pretty inexpensive.
Here's what you need for making those cards:
- Paperboard in different colors
- White paper
- Scissors, glue, textile glue or all-purpose glue, a sharp knife
- Fabric scraps, washi tape, potatoes, handmade rubber stamps
First, cut out white paper and glue it onto paperboard. Then you can embellish the cards according to the four different options:
Christmas cards with rubber stamps.
Christmas cards with washi tape.
Christmas cards with fabric scraps: cut out the scraps and use textile glue to attach them to the cards.
Christmas cards with patato stamps: cut out pretty Christmas motifs from potatoes and use them as stamps.
Yayyy, so pretty and colorful! :) I made lots of them and sent them to my relatives. :)
Happy crafting!
