Last summer outfit for this year and a handmade camera pillow.

Camera pillow: handmade by me :)
Heart shirt and floral shoes: Primark
White top & turquoise skirt: H&M
Yellow tights: ebay
Sparkling ring: a gift from Flo ;-*
Turquoise rings: from my Mama
Earrings: one bought at a music festival

Hey everyone, wish you a happy weekend! :) Here are a few photos I took about two weeks ago when it was the end of summer and a bit warmer as it is now, a last day for colorful summer fashion. :) Flo took those outfit photos of me and I finally wanted to share the handmade camera pillow I made last winter as a Christmas present for Anja (oh my, I totally forgot to take good photos of it!).

I love this pillow a lot and I think I'm gonna make myself one which looks like a sewing machine, because I'm gonna have to give this one back to Anja (she can hardly sleep without it anymore, poor girl... :D).
When I developed this pillow, I made myself a draft of a Diana camera, copied it onto fabric and used textile colors to draw the camera. Then I cut out its shape and sewed this suuuper pretty pillow, Oh, how I love it!
I'm now beginning a crafty and relaxing weekend, I hope you are enjoying yours, too! :)
Happy weekend!
Lu

P.S.: Thanks for your great feedback concerning my new business cards and leaflets and I'm happy that all of you think that they perfectly match my style. :) Anja did a really good job! ;-*

Otaki trip and farm stay

A few weeks back, we visited a home stay/farm in Otaki about an hour north from Wellington. We went along with another family so N had company ;)
We went via a scenic route along the west coast of North Island along the Tasman Sea.
Once we reached the place, we were welcomed into our cabins by this stunning blue necked beauty!

We set off to explore the place immediately; because it all looked so inviting and exciting. And we wanted to see everything before the sun went down.

The farm is very Bali-inspired. They have their head office in Bali hence a lot of Buddha statues all over the place.

Some elephants-having-fun statues too!

There was even a cute li'l wishing well and the kids dropped coins into it and made their wishes :)

There were lots of birds and animals on the farm roaming around freely. Some hens.

Some geese, roosters and birds-I-don't-know-names-of.

There were some deer.

The best part was when the peacock decided to spread his feathers and strut about.

Then it was time for sight seeing around the town of Otaki. And it had so many hues to offer. It was a pure visual delight!

At the Otaki Beach we saw these seagulls resting.

Ended the day with some delicious food at the local Indian restaurant.

The next morning we had a gorgeous visitor at our cabin door!

Beautiful, isn't it??

New Zealand is a beautiful place and here is to many more trips!!

New business cards and leaflets.

Hello! :) First of all, thank you for all the amazing comments and feedback you gave me for my booth at the market last weekend, they made my heart melt and I felt so flattered and happy, thank you so much! :) Although I do not always find the time to respond to every single comment, I read each one carefully and appreciate your feedback a lot, it always makes my day!!
Today I wanna share with you my new business cards and leaflets which I of course took to the market with me.
Since I have been running out of my old business cards, I thought it was the perfect time to get new ones and to even order some leaflets. I somehow had an idea how they should look like (lots of white with pink and colors to reflect the color scheme I like and to match my blog's style and the look of my home and my overall favourite color concept. I talked about it with Anja, she's always the one who helps me with such things, because she's a future media designer (next year she'll be done :)) and a great help (and she also designed my last business cards).
I wanted the font which I always use for my blog and then Anja designed those pretty leaflets and business cards for me.

I love the lace that she added and I love the clean look, because it's mainly white and Anja chose a plain font for the text.
Here I simply love the choice of colors and that the leaflets are so bright and still colorful! :) I think they are just perfect for my little indie business.
I'm so thankful for Anja's help and I was really happy that we were able to order them before the market last weekend and many customers grabbed a leaflet and took it home with them. :)
How do you like my new business cards and leaflets? :)

My afternoon at the Inselfest in Potsdam.

Heeeello! :) I hope you were having a fantastic weekend! Mine was super, because my mama has been here and I have been selling my handmade things at a market. :) To see my past two markets where I had a booth, click here to see older blog posts. :)
On Saturday there was a little market on an island in Potsdam and I was having a booth and was there all afternoon. At first, it was quite empty, but later, many people came and bought my handmade things. :) As you might already know, I love to decorate and I had lots of fun preparing my booth and making everything look pretty.
I took with me about 160 different items and I was soooo flattered by all the amazing compliments that I got, soooo heartwarming!!! What is more, I even sold way more items that I had expected and I was so proud!
My mother and Flo supported me all day, I'm so thankful for that!
This afternoon was lots of fun and I had a lot of luck that the sun came out and people came to visit this little market.
Some people payed me compliments because of my outfit matching my handmade banner, but I swear that this was unintentionally. :)
Among other things, I sold pot holders, dribble bibs, gift bags for Christmas, hair bows, pouches and hand-painted mugs.
Here's a part of my table with all the colorful items. :) A few people didn't want to believe me that I made all those things myself and were so impressed by the diversity, choice of colors and patterns and by all the ideas behind the products! Sooo flattering! Two people even asked me if I had employers who help me sewing all those things. :D
My handmade banner and the apple bunting.

I also sold tobacco pouches, pillow cases, brooches and Christmas stockings.
This is my pretty decor I made at the opening of DaWanda's showroom last week, it was perfect for my booth. :)
Handmade felt brooches and pouches.
Such a nice day and such a good experience! :)
Have you ever sold anything handmade at a market? :) So much fun!
Enjoy your Sunday evening!

One Piece of Fabric, Three Projects: What We Made.

Hello! :) A few days ago I posted about the idea 'One Piece of Fabric, Three Projects' on which Laura of Tagträumerin, Stefanie of Squeaky Swing and I have been working. We found an awesome piece of vintage fabric, each one of us kept 2 meters and we all sewed something different. :)
So here you can see all of our three projects at once, each made with lots of love, using this super pretty and colorful piece of fabric! :)
As I have already written quite often, I love projects with fellow bloggers and it was lots of fun working on this one. Stefanie wrote that this fabric will always remind us of each other and I couldn't agree more: when wearing my new, handmade dress, I will always think of those two great girls and the awesome time we spent with each other this summer! :)
Wow, this is Laura's beautiful skirt! It's a paperbag waist skirt and she did not only share her colorful outfit with her skirt, but also a detailed and really good tutorial for how to sew such a skirt oneself! (In case you forgot or didn't even now, Laura is not only a tailor, but she also studies fashion design and I'm always impressed by her sewing skills and sense for fashion... :))

Next, Stefanie has sewn a super pretty pillow case to use it for home decor purposes. Doesn't it look great in that beautiful chair with the romantic blanket? She has also shared a tutorial for how to make it, there are super easy and perfectly understandable step-by-step instructions so that even sewing beginners can make such a pretty pillow case themselves! :)

And here's finally what I have sewn, a super easy dress (I took the cut of a vintage dress and some of you asked me to provide a pattern, I hope I'll find some time for it, soon! :)) which I showed you in an outfit post a few days ago and combined it with matching accessories. :) This was lots of fun and I miss those two talented girls a lot!

Did you like what we turned this pretty vintage fabric into? :) What would you have done with it? ;) I still have got a little bit left (too sad that it's not enough to sew such a pillow case like Stefanie or such a great skirt like Laura), maybe I'll make a little neckerchief or a pouch. :)
Thanks for reading and happy weekend!

Guest post on Kathastrophal - how to make a pretty bunting.

Hi! :) Today I'm guest blogging over on lovely Katha's blog Kathastrophal. :) I like her blog so much and I like her outfits, the way her personality shines through and the way she writes her texts! :)
She invited me to contribute a post to her "Goodbye summer, hello autumn" series and I made a tutorial for how to make a pretty bunting out of fabric scraps and cardboard for home decoration purposes, you can find it on her blog. :)
Wish you a lovely Thursday,
Lu :)

What I Wore // One Piece of Fabric, Three Projects.

Dress: handmade by me :)
Leggings: cotton on
Handbag: pieces
Boots: zara
Belt: H&M (?)
Earrings: unknowm
Feather ring and cardigan: H&M
Bracelet: from my mother

Hello everyone, happy Wednesday! So this is my second post for our little series "One piece of fabric, three projects". As I have already told you, Laura of Tagträumerin, Stefanie of Squeaky Swing and I found an awesome piece of vintage fabric while we were second hand shopping and we decided to sew three different projects. :)
I took another vintage dress that I own and copied its cut and made myself a super easy sewing pattern. It's a rather simple dress, not too complicated, and this is just perfect for me, because it is the first dress I have ever made myself! :)
I love 'our' fabric soooo much, the colors are perfect for late summer and for fall and I love that one can combine the dress with anything whose color is in the dress itself. :)

I decided to wear a pair of mustard leggings and brown accessories with the dress, because I'm in the mood for fall and I decided to take the outfit photos in the forest. :) It was a perfect Sunday and I felt totally comfortable in this dress (eeeeks, so proud that it's handmade!!). Can't wait to sew another dress, soon! :)
So here's my outfit, I took some photos with and without my cardigan so that you can see every detail. :)
How do you like the outfit and the dress itself? :)
Yesterday Laura already posted photos of her awesome paperbag waist skirt and tomorrow Stefanie will show you her project, so make sure to check out their blogs! :)
