Review: PhotoLove Prints

Hello everyone! Today I've got another review for you! I have recently been contacted by PhotoLove, a great small company from Hamburg which turns your photos from Instagram, Facebook or Eyeem into pretty polaroid pictures. Of course I was super excited and chose my fave phone photos for this review.
When ordering your prints on PhotoLove, you have three different options:
a) PhotoMail, an envelope filled with four prints for 5€
b) PhotoBag, a bag filled with up to twelve prints for 13€
c) PhotoBox, a handmade cardboard box filled with up to 24 photo prints for a total of 24€

You can see all three options in the photo above (but my PhotoBox has been shipped in an additional gift box). I really like that there are those three different options and I think their price is fair, too. When receiving all those three packages, I immediately thought about the PhotoMail version with its four photos as a nice surprise gift for a friend, such a nice idea. Moreover, the PhotoBox is great when you want to have more photos at once and the Bag is great for just for fun projects for which you need some polaroid prints of your photos. One package for each occassion, that's fine!
For the PhotoMail package, I decided to order four prints of some of my favorite outfits to turn them into a collage that makes me happy when looking at it.
The only thing that I didn't like that much about those PhotoLove prints is the back: of course this black background reminds of the back of original polaroids and it's a nice visual contrast with the information about PhotoLove, but I rather prefer anything colorful instead of black and I think the information in the back is way too big so that the polaroids don't serve well as a present. Nevertheless, I really like the kind note on the cardboard holder of the photos.
This is a collection of twelve photos, exactly the amount that you can get when ordering a PhotoBag. I love all the colors of my photos and I love seeing them at another place than only on my phone's display. :)
I'm super satisfied with the quality if the prints: the colors are super bright and the surface is a little but glossy which makes the polaroids nearly look like real ones, that's super cool!
Next, here's my gift box I received with the order of a PhotoBox with 24 photos. Nicely packed and handmade in Hamburg, that makes it extra special.
When I have finally been holding all my pretty photos in my hands, I immediately thought about what to use them for. Some will be added to presents and some will simply be glued into photo albums:
You know I love bright colors and I love masking tape, it's a perfect combination when attaching the polaroids onto the plain pages of a photo album. Keeping memories like this is a perfect way to spend a grey afternoon in fall. :)
Apart from filling my photo album with the photos, I also hung some of them up on my wall so that they can always be seen and make me happy! Because the colors are so bright, they perfectly match everything else in my home!

All in all, I'm super satisfied with everything - the good service, the quality of the photos, the colors and their overall look which is very close to an original polaroid. Moreover, the website is really pretty and the ordering process is super easy, you simply have to log in your respective account (Instagram, etc.) and choose the photos. The black back with the big company information is the only tiny thing that I didn't like that much, but as long as I don't want to use them as postcards, that doesn't matter.

Review: Instagram Photos as Magnets by Picpack

Hello, dear readers! I have recently been super excited when I received an e-mail by Picpack, a relatively young company who turns instagram photos into beautiful magnets. Picpack asked if I was interested in reviewing their products on my blog in exchange for magnets of my favorite Instagram photos - of course I wanted and I didn't regret it! :)
The Picpack magnets are delivered as one big sheet where you can then easily take them out. I got two sheets at once, each pack including twelve photos which cost 18€, worldwide shipping included.
Luckily, I have many magnetic surfaces at home and thus, my pretty turquoise bucket which holds paper rolls was a perfect place to decorate it with magnets of summer flowers.
The colors are super bright and in reality, the quality of the photos is even better than can be seen here on my photos! :)
My sewing table's trash bin is another great spot for placing magnetic photos so that they can be seen during work and make me happy. :)
Because the photos are all so pretty, I found it super hard to decide where to place them, so I tried out several different places in our home. For me, our fridge is the best place and there we can see the loveliest memories each time we grab a snack. :)
All in all, I was super satisfied with the nice service, the quality of the magnets and the photos itself.
Moreover, delivery was incredibly fast!! I ordered my magnets late at night and got them less than 48 hours later.
So if you are such an Instagram addict like I am and if you have lots of pretty photos on your phone, this might be a great gift idea for Christmas, you could give your friends magnets with photos of your favorite memories you share with each other. :)

Real Homes I - Poorni, KG and Adi's house

This post has been pending for the longest time ever! I know! Without further delay presenting to you *Drumroll please* - the first home in the Real Homes series, which belongs to Poorni, KG and their son Adi.
Lets start with a tour of the house and then I will tell you about the owners :)

For me, these first two pictures sum up their home, they are the essence, the soul of their home.  These pictures are a preview of what the owners love!

Poorni is learning to play a guitar. Music, books, collectibles, eclectic stuff, mixed furniture, it all finds a place in their home and makes it warm and inviting. 

Both Poorni and KG are book lovers and yes they pick up books even if they have lots in the to-be-read list. I do that too, do you?

One of the many things I love about their home is the lived-in, casual feeling one gets as you walk in.

Those are tiny paper lights strung around the bigger hanging lamp and they look oh so pretty when lit up!

The Dhalls are a travel loving family and their trips all over the world have resulted in a lovely collection of artifacts displayed all over the house.

Ladies and Gentlemen presenting to you the Starbucks coffee mug collection :) 

This lamp was picked up from Delhi on a trip to source lights for their current house when the interiors were being done. 

Wall art picked from Purple Turtles, Indiranagar. The art is by Aarti Karwayun Chawda of ispaceart. 

Very soothing and long lasting natural fiber blinds from BlindLove, Indiranagar.

Their house has soothing colours, mostly neutrals or earthy colours like this brick wall here. 

Art and various art forms can be seen throughout the house, like the aboriginal art from Australia above. 

The blend of the traditional with the modern, you think?? Love the antique finish mirror, again from Purple Turtles. The fridge magnets are souvenirs picked from everywhere they have been. 

The love for music has passed on to Adi, who is learning to play the drums. 

Poorni is an ex IT professional. She loves to travel, read, try new things and explore the world, one bit at a time! She is also a photographer and does assignments professionally. Check her photography page here. She is the owner/creator of Beantree, which uses natural and locally sourced ingredients to produce food free from preservatives and additives. Their lovely, finger licking hummus is available in multiple stores. My personal favourite is the lemon coriander hummus. 

KG apart from his corporate world/IT career which takes him around the world more than often, loves to read and run. He is now preparing for his first 50K run.

A Girl's Weekend in Casselfornia.

Blogging is for making friends. Friends who share your interests and dreams. That's the first thing that comes to my mind when thinking about blogging.
Since I started my blog some years ago, I made some amazing new friends. At first, we've only been commenting on each other's blog posts, then we've become blog friends and some time later, me met each other in reality and became real friends.
One of those great friendships that began through blogging is the friendship with Stefanie. :) Nearly two years ago, I got to know her because of our blogs and last summer, we spent an awesome week with our other friends Stef, Laura, Fabienne and my best friend Anja. It was a magical week and we had the best time and got to know each other better, shared secrets, memories and dreams. :) During the last year, I was lucky to spend time with Laura and Stef again, but because of the long distance which separates Stefanie and me, we haven't seen each other. Now, after exactly one year, we finally made it to see each other again!! :*
We thought about meeting somewhere in the middle so that none of us would have to travel too far and so Anja and I drove to Kassel (my home town which is in the middle between Potsdam and Switzerland) to meet Stefanie there and to spend a long girl's weekend with each other!! :)
On the first evening, we walked around, I showed them some sights, we had dinner in a delicious Mexican restaurant and we chatted a lot. :)
Each morning, we were having breakfast on the other side of the street, opposite our hotel, and deliciously started our days. :)
We went to the Bugasee, it love it there!

Time went by way to fast, that's the only bad thing about this wonderful weekend with them! I really appreciated this girl's quality time and already miss Stefanie a lot! I'm glad that Anja is living just around the corner. :)
