Shop Update: New Crochet Heabands (See Who's Wearing Them).

Dear readers, it's time for a shop update for the cold season! :) Remember last year's collection of handmade crochet headbands I listed in my shop last fall? During the past weeks, I've been crocheting like crazy and I relisted nearly all of the colors and some headbands have already been sold. :)
So that you do not see only me wearing my handmade pieces, today I've got some extra special photos of some fellow bloggers and friends wearing my cozy headbands. Each of them is wearing their favorite color and combining the headband with their personal style, so exciting! See yourself!
This is me wearing a headband in apple red.
Cute Juli of heimatPOTTential wearing my dark green headband, perfectly matching her yellow accessories.
My lovely Instagram-pal Kathleen of msterious wearing my olive green headband that she bought last year.
Yeah, I often go for a mustard headband as fall accessory!
My sweet friend Stefanie of Squeaky Swing wears her dark green headband with a fall outfit. So cute!
Although you will probably all be staring at her cute kitty, have a look at my super pretty best friend Anja of aentschie's Blog, wearing a grey crochet headband from my collection. :)
Pretty Stef of Magnoliaelectric wearing my handmade mustard headband last winter, color splash!
And last, but not least, sweet Laura of Tagträumerin with my dark green headband in her adorable living room. :) I love how she combined it with her knitted handmade orange dress!

I'm really excited about all those photos and as always, I'm happy about seeing my handmade items in usage in other people's lives! :)
Below, you can find a screenshot of the headbands listed in my DaWanda shop. In addition to a white headband which is also available, below you can see all colors listed in my shop.
As you can also see in all of those photos, please note that the colors can vary, because each photo and pc setting displays different colors!
So if you have just fallen in love with one of my crochet headbands and have chosen your favorite color, you can simply find them in my crochet headband section in my DaWanda shop.
Keep yourself warm for the cold season! :)

5 Different Handmade Necklaces - DIY: Toy Animal Necklace.

Hello, hello! Remember my last post featuring the craft supplies of my sponsor idee. Creativmarkt? I posted a tutorial for how to make an easy wire statement necklace. This time, I'm going to show you how to make a toy animal necklace, also using craft supplies I have chosen and idee. Creativmarkt sponsored for this cooperation. Have fun making your own necklace! :)
To make such a toy animal necklace, you need:
- Toy animals made of plastic or rubber
- Round hooks (available at the hardware store)
- Colorful strings or cords with a lenght of about 75cm (via idee. Creativmarkt, for example leather strings in different colors or cotton strings in various colors like I used here in this DIY)
First of all, you need your toy animal and the round hook which works like a screw. Take it and screw it into your animal's bag. If it's too difficult to start and get into the plastic or rubber of the animal's back, take a sharp item (for example the tip of a circle) to prepare the hole. Then screw the round hook into the animal.
Next, take your string and pull it through the hole. I didn't want to use a conventional necklace clasp, I rather wanted the lenght of the necklace to be flexible. Thus, I decided to make a special knot (as shown on the photos) which allows me to adjust the necklace's lenght each time I wear it. This way, it can be worn matching each shirt's individual neckline.
Moreover, I wanted to make several necklaces at once and therefore I used a different string color for each necklace. Those cotton strings from idee. are my favorites and I have already used them quite often for jewellery projects.
That's it, eeeeks!
And another one with a pink string. I love pink! :)
Sooo cute! Are you going to make such an easy necklace, too? Which animal will you choose? :)
Have fun!
Lu
P.S.: As always, although some of the supplies for this blog post have been sponsored, this doesn't touch my opinion on the sponsor or my decisions concerning this blog post's content! :)

My Personal Ways to Stay Happy.

Hello, hello! :) Most of the time, I'm a rather positive and really happy person and I have recently been wondering about all the things that make me stay so happy. Of course, the main thing are my favorite people, my mother, Flo, my close friends, my family and the things I do, how I spent my everyday life. But there's even more, things that make me happy that do not all happen automatically. Those are thing I do for a reason, I do them because they make me happy and help me to stay as positive as I am and today I want to share them with you. :)
Color your life
Colors make me happy, so I surround myself with pretty pops of color everywhere I go! Life often is way too grey, so I’m happy when I wear a colorful outfit or look at all the lovely things at home.
Set goals
Making lists helps me to focus on what I want to achieve and after I completed something on my list, I sometimes reward myself. Moreover, setting goals helps keeping an overview over priorities.
Reward yourself
As I already said, after finishing a (boring / exhausting / complicated) goal that was on my list, I tend to reward myself. This is how I keep motivated, even on days when annoying tasks have to be done. For example after finishing my taxes, it feels nice to go on an ice cream date or to reward myself with a tiny material thing from my wishlist.
Enlarge your personal horizon
Simply try out new things! “When was the last time you did something for the first time?” I once heard this quote at the beginning of this year and it really impressed me. Since then, I always keep it in mind and ask myself which completely new thing I’d like to try. Thus, life never gets boring and I always have a new challenge ahead in order to enlarge my horizon.
Don’t be afraid to learn something new
I believe that life only is worth living as long as we are able to keep on learning new things and are willed to learn new skills and gain new knowledge. Otherwise, for me it would be really boring. Maybe there’s a new craft technique you’ve always been interest in (in my case, this is knitting ;)) or maybe there’s another language you want to learn or how to better handle your camera!? Or maybe it’s only this one special recipe you’ve always wanted to try!? Just go for it, afterwards you’ll feel extra special and proud! :)

Make new friends
Blogging is making new friends – that’s one of the best thing about blogging, all the awesome people I have met! But even without writing a blog, making new friends is a thing I wouldn’t want to miss in my life. It’s always so super exciting to get to know new people and I often have to remind myself to be open-minded concerning strangers and to welcome new people in my life, this can be really refreshing and inspiring.
Be brave and dare something
Being able to dare something you have always been afraid of is a thing which I believe to be super healthy. On the one hand, healthy for one’s self-esteem, on the other hand, this is something which is really essential in moving forward and in developing ones character. Maybe you could make a list with things you have always been wanting to do (but weren’t brave enough) and then pick one thing to do. I think this is a really exciting challenge, no matter whether it is about an issue of your everyday life that challenges you, a big adventure you didn’t dare to start or just a normal goal you weren’t brave enough to achieve!
Do something that nobody would have expected
Most of us tend to live according to certain behavioral patterns we are accustomed to, but sometimes, this can make life really boring. I think from time to time, it can be really nice to do something completely different that nobody else – and especially not you – would have expected. Just as one example: I personally would have never thought I'd write blog posts with fashion advice, DIY projects and sewin tutorial. A few years ago, I would have never thought that I'd be blogging at all. :)
Choose the right friends
Only surround yourself with people who support you, are good for you and lift you higher, those people who are always happy for you and really care about your feelings. Envy is poison for any friendship, so rather avoid people who try to keep you small and are jealous of what you’re doing, even if this is sometimes hard to see.
Take a break and relax
Sometimes you simply should let go and spend time doing nothing at all, being lazy and calm down! For me it’s often difficult to forget everything else and just hang around, but I’m convinced that this is extremely necessary to stay healthy, live a balanced life and fill up your batteries.
Enjoy the little details in life
Something that always makes me smile are the little things in life: a pretty flower next to the street, a favorite song on the radio, a stranger smiling at me, receiving an unexpected gift, getting a thoughtful compliment… I believe that only people who are able to appreciate those things can life a fulfilled life!

Is there anything on my list that you also consider to be important?
Happy day, Lu

Favorite Restaurants and Cafes: Lu Loves Mutter Fourage

Hello my dearest readers! :) Because I frequently receive mails in which I am asked about my favorite shops and restaurant recommendations around Potsdam and Berlin, here's a new post showing you one of my favorite places, Mutter Fourage. This is a wonderful family business with a super pretty wholefood shop with organic and regional groceries, a flower shop, a small art gallery and restaurant and cafe on their super pretty yard in Berlin-Wannsee.
My mother found this place on the Internet while she was looking for local organic and vegetarian restaurants (but they also offer dishes with meat and fish) and we were super excited about this pretty place.
The whole big yard is filled with pretty flower pots, flowers and herbs (which can all be purchased) and is super pretty to look at.
Beautiful flowers everywhere one can look.
The atmosphere in their cafe and restaurant is fantastic, one can directly sit among all those super pretty and gorgeously smelling plants (but there are also tables inside for cold and rainy days).
They offer cakes made by a small traditional bakery and all their healthy food is homemade and with fresh ingredients. Mhhh!
Oh, how I love all the cute corners in which one can spend the afternoon and there's so much to look at! Flowers, pretty old flower pots, the old buildings...
In the middle part of the yard, there's the tiny organic grocery store. There one can also buy pots with fresh herbs.
All those pretty flower pots!
When we have been there for the last time about one week ago, there were already lots of pumpkins for the upcoming new season. Welcome fall!
On this photo you can see their cute flower shop, so nice with the wooden building and all those colorful flowers!
This place is a really beautiful oasis and it's so nice sitting there in between all the green plants for a nice piece of cake or a healthy savory lunch!
