Beware, don't read this post when you are hungry! :)
Hi everyone! :) Two weeks ago, we celebrated Flo's birthday. We celebrated with only a few close friends who came over the weekend, it was awesome and as always, time went by way too fast.
Because I love to decorate and because I loooove theme parties, I offered Flo to prepare everything for a maritime birthday party. :) As you were able to see a few blog posts before, I made the decor myself and I had started planning and preparing a few weeks before. :)
So here's the food table with the decor in our little kitchen, I totally love the final result and all guests paid me the nicest compliments. :)
We had all different kinds of snack and Flo and I have already started to prepare them the day before.
I looooved this blue cocktail, I'm gonna share a recipe later on. :) We also made blueberry-lemon muffins, but in order to save time, we used a baking mixture for normal muffins and only added the blueberries and fresh lemon juice. :)
The beautiful, striped paper straws and the cupcake paper are from Die Schönhaberei. :)
Hmmmmm, tiny mini pizza baguettes. :)
We also made a mediterranean noodle salad after a recipe by Coco, I only made a few little changes. :)
Doesn't the food table look nice? :)
In addition to beer, liquor and softdrinks, I prepared three kinds of special drinks. First of all, I made my beloved raspberry-lime lemonade, it's so refreshing. Second, I made a blue cocktail, gonna share the recipe later on... :) And third, I made Sangria after a recipe I found on Elsie's blog. The recipe is awesome, but we didn't add enough sugar and the red wine we bought unfortunalety didn't taste as good as we had expected, so the Sangria didn't go down very well. :(
Mmmmmhhh, cauliflowers rissoles!!! Those were a mix of two different recipes: I've got an awesome, own recipe for veggie rissoles with zucchini, leek and carrots and Jenny always makes amazing rissoles with broccoli and cauliflowers, so I somehow combined both recipes and what came out was totally delicious!! :) Moreover, we made a normal tomato salad with feta and fresh herbs. :)
Our wall decor with the pretty paper ship garland that Anja made. <3
Yummy, homemade fruit mascarpone after a recipe I invented myself, gonna share it with you soon. :)
The night before, Flo, one of our weekend guests, and I made lots of anchor cookies and we made a chocolate cake. :)
Wobbly jelly with a tiny dash of vodka & delicious fruit sticks. :)
Oh my, I just love the overall look of this food table & kitchen decor, I'm really proud of myself. :) What do you think? What is your favourite detail? :)
Happy weekend,
Lu :)
